This is certainly not the most memorable or the most profound musical moment of Pavarotti's long career, but it serves as a reminder that he was not only a great singer, but a great humanitarian as well. In his series of "Pavarotti & Friends" concerts, he raised money for international charities. And given the stuffiness and insularity to which the world of classical music can be prone, it's nice to remember that he wasn't a musical snob.
